Welcome "Mnemonic Conlanging," my newest art project.
Reminders, so we remember... because we forget so often.
This work is all about reminding humanity (aka me and maybe you) what is deeply important to remember. The foundation of the images comes from the “Art of Conscious Evolution,” a painting series rooted in the symbolism of the chakras and is layered with ideas from the moment they were created in. This series celebrates the artist's current whims and whimsy, encouraging playful techniques that we learned as small children, reminding us all not to take things so seriously and to “Enjoy the Journey.” Materials from the artists surroundings (recycled, reused materials) are added as a way to show her love for our planet. It is a conscious way to slow down and enjoy the things we discard daily in hopes of discarding less and appreciating more.
As part of the project, art will be shared and quickly dispersed into the world so the artist does not hold onto the pieces and make them too precious. This project demands volume and celebrates prolific art creation as part of it's core. This project reminds us that art is meant to move into the world, creating and strengthening the practice of collecting art as something valuable to our world. Supporting artists is a good idea for our planet. We need art. We need artists. Art & artists are valuable to our planet.
The ideas and concepts of the pieces are meant to communicate strong ideas and meaningful moments into a lasting single image. When we see it, we remember, deeply understand, and evolve- permanently, even if, and especially if, we need reminders. The painting, hung in your home, is the reminder, "The Mnemonic Conlang."
We are capable of changing and growing, and we need to practice, repeat, and create new neural pathways for these new ways of thinking to be the way our subconscious thinks. It’s science and art can help. I believe we can consciously evolve, and my art is here as a tool to help.
Mnemonic Conlanging is a verb.
Key points about conlangs:
- Symbol-based:
- Many conlangs utilize unique symbols or glyphs to represent words or concepts, making them visually distinct from existing languages.
- Fictional use:
- Often, people create conlangs for fictional stories, like in fantasy or science fiction, where they need a distinct language for their characters.
- Linguistic design:
- Creating a Conlang involves designing its grammar, pronunciation rules, vocabulary, and writing system from scratch.
Definition of Mnemonics- they are techniques that improve memory by linking new information to existing knowledge in a way that makes it easier to recall later
